Opening of the Brighton-Allston Heritage Museum  Feb. 24, 2007 - We are pleased to kick-off our celebration with the opening of the Brighton-Allston Heritage Museum on the anniversary of the incorporation of Brighton in 1807.  The museum, which will be permanently housed at the Veronica Smith Senior Center, will feature interpretive and interactive exhibits on many aspects our community’s history and will provide the Brighton-Allston Historical Society the opportunity to exhibit a major portion of its growing collection of photographs, artifacts, and memorabilia

Re-Creation of the Centennial Living Flag  May 11, 2007 - This historic event will re-create the “Living Flag” which was the cornerstone of the Centennial Celebration in 1907.  More than 500 children from local schools dressed in red, white, and blue t-shirts and holding colored bunting will be arranged on platforms to form a living American Flag.  This exciting and newsworthy community event will take place in front of Brighton High School and will be followed by an ice cream party

River Fair at Herter Park June 16, 2007 - We expect thousands to attend this major outdoor family-friendly event, which will offer fun, food, and festivities for all ages including music, pony rides, face painting, clowns, art exhibits, and boat rides on the Charles River.  The River Fair will take place in Herter Park, which hugs the Charles River in Allston-Brighton and includes playgrounds, picnic tables, a theater, and ample free parking. 

Allston Village Street Fair September 23, 2007 - The Allston Village Street Fair will be a full day of fun for participants of all ages to enjoy!  Entertainment following the Brian J. Honan 5K Road Race and the Allston-Brighton Parade, will include a variety of local bands, artists, designers, craftsmen, storytellers, jugglers, children’s entertainers, and much, much more; while showcasing our unique shops, open house studios and a multitude of ethnic cuisine restaurants.  Hosted by local businesses celebrating the diversity of Allston.  The Street Fair is MBTA accessible with shuttle busses to and from ample parking. 

Gala Celebration November 2007 - Our year-long celebration culminates with a formal affair where friends, neighbors, supporters, and sponsors can come together for an evening of food and fun.  Our gala event will be held at one of the marquee locations in our community and will feature beautiful music, fine food, and lively conversation.  We will also use this occasion to recognize and present awards to our premium sponsors and our dedicated volunteers

Creation of New Public Open Space - The residents of our densely-populated urban community know and appreciate the value and importance of public open space.  In recognition of this community value, Brighton-Allston 200 is committed to securing and dedicating new open space within our community as a tangible

Historic Installations Project -The Brighton-Allston Historical Society is designing and will unveil several new illustrative historic installations as permanent legacies of the Bicentennial.  These installations will educate and inform residents and visitors regarding our history.  The BAHS is planning to unveil these
